Biografia:: Tetsuya Kakihara nasce a Düsseldorf, in Germania, luogo in cui vive fino ai 18 anni. Appassionato sin da piccolo di anime, manga e cultura giapponese, Kakihara si reca in Giappone per frequentare la Amusement Media Academy, allo scopo di diventare doppiatore, e nel contempo studia e lavora per affinare il suo giapponese. Debutta quindi nel mondo del doppiaggio nel 2003. Nel 2007, alla prima cerimonia dei Seiyū Awards, ottiene il premio come Best Male Rookie grazie al ruolo di Yutaka Mikoto in Princess Princess. Tetsuya Kakihara si dedica anche al canto, debuttando nel 2010 con l'album Still on Journey, sotto etichetta Kiramune, appartenente a Bandai Visual Co., Ltd. and Lantis. Il suo ruolo più noto è quello di Natsu (Fairy Tail) ma ha lavorato anche a diversi drama cd, alcuni dei quali di genere BL e a svariati videogames: in Final Fantasy XV riveste il ruolo di uno dei protagonisti, Prompto, nella saga di Tales of è stato Kor Meteor in Tales of Hearts e Jin Kisaragi nella saga di BlazBlue. Tetsuya Kakihara conosce cinque lingue: giapponese, tedesco, spagnolo, inglese e latino.
